I am a self-taught photographer, and can be found, most weekends, by a lake or in the woods, waiting for a sunrise or change in light, which has me returning to favorite locations again and again.
The story of how I came to be here today starts with the desire to take pictures of our daughter, who at age 17 was down to her last 2 seasons as a competitive dancer. Purchasing my first DSLR camera I was on a quest, to capture the most beautiful images of our daughter dancing on stage. After many hours of educating myself and countless hours of practice, I was successful, and was able to get some beautiful images of our daughter dancing.
Our daughter is now grown, and living out on her own, and that's when my interest turned to landscape and nature photography. I feel like I am on a never-ending quest now, to get the perfect shots.
Focusing on landscapes and nature photography, whether it is along the shores of Lake Huron or one of my favorite hiking trails I see the world around me through the viewfinder of my Nikon D600 and my greatest motivation for going anywhere is balanced by the possibility of taking amazing photographs.
Looking through the eye of my lens, taking photos has become my passion, and though I’ve never taken it to a professional level or a career, my greatest achievement would be, to one day be recognized and published. All images are taken by myself and are of my own post edits. Photography is a continuous learning curve, and each time I pick up my camera something new is learned.
So thousands of photos later, I would like to share some of my favorites with you, I hope you enjoy looking through my work as much as I've enjoyed capturing them. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
